Feature Article: Sugar

We eat foods contaning sugar at almost every meal but do you know how much sugar that little chocalate bar actually contains? A single milk chocalate bar contains about TEN TEASPOONFULS of sugar, about one-third of the amount of sugar we guzzle everyday, which is an astounding thirty teaspoonfuls of sugar. Even a small tin of baked beans contains two to three teaspoonfuls of sugar, but the funny thing is we cant even taste the sugary taste at all. This makes sugar all the more dangerous, as even a 500ml of green tea with "reduced sugar" and the "healthy pyramid" sign contains 22 grams of sugar! You might think the bottled green tea tastes "pure" and contains little sugar but you're wrong!

Sugar can cause tooth decay, diabetes and even obesity.(surprise) We only have two sets of teeth in our lifetimes, so tooth decay can really be a big problem when it comes to chewy foods. Sugar can also cause obesity as sugar is high in energy, and if you love to snack on candy or chocalate when your watching the television or relaxing, DON'T. the sugar will be converted into excess energy and fats will come your way soon if you do this everyday.

Abstain from that bar of chocalate you eat everyday, or you wont be able to eat any when you get diabetes, and you'll be unable to eat any sweet foods or enjoy that bar of chocalate once a week. start cutting down on your daily intake of sugar everyday, and you'll be on your way to a happier, healthier life.
