My favorite author

My favorite author is Christopher Paolini who wrote Eragon,Eldest and Brisingr(coming on 23 sep 2008 whee!)Eragon is a fiction story and i love fiction.i also like stories about elves,dragons and knights and all that, and this book fits my likes perfectly.I chose this series over the Harry Potter series as i feel that in the Harry Potter books,when a battle is taking place, all the chracters can do are to shoot spells out of their wands, and when you lose your wand, you're useless.This makes it feel a little boring to me,not like stories where people dress up in armor and take a sword to whack you, its more fun reading those.Harry Potter's some kind of modern fiction, and i don't really like modern stories, stories about the olden times are more fun to read in my opinion.:)

1.His hometown,Paradise Valley,Montana's jagged Beartooth Mountains inspired the fantastic scenary in Eragon.
2.He was 15 when he wrote the first draft for Eragon
3.The book began as a hobby, a personal challenge; he never intended it to be published.
4.Early in 2007 Christopher realized that the plot and characters demanded more space than could fit in one volume(the third book) and that a fourth book would be necessary to give each story element the attention it deserved. What began as the Inheritance trilogy became the Inheritance cycle.
5.In 2002, Eragon was first published by Paolini International LLC, Paolini's parents' company.However,in Summer 2002, the stepson of author Carl Hiaasen found Eragon in a bookstore and loved it, and Hiaasen brought it to the attention of his publisher, Alfred Knopf.Knopf subsequently made an offer to publish Eragon and the rest of the Inheritance cycle.
